Innovative CI Strategies
Find quick answers to your pressing questions about our work and events.
What is the overall mission of Sentinel Research?
The overarching goal of Sentinel Research Society (SRS) is to develop creative, non-governmental solutions to complex counterintelligence problems. This includes addressing malign influence and foreign information operations that do not have a clear government solution, as well as engaging with private sector organizations to enhance national security.
Do I need to know a lot about Counterintelligence (CI)?
No previous knowledge is required. In fact, the lack of preconceived knowledge of CI is a benefit because it brings a unique perspective to the topic that those with years of experience working in CI will not have because we tend to make assumptions and see the world in a way that those coming from academia do not.
Do I need to be a US Citizen to participate in Sentinel Research?
This will be handled on a case-by-case basis. There are naturally some countries that pose a more significant threat to the U.S. than others, and some with whom the U.S. has closer relations. SRS leadership will evaluate the total person and make an assessment of how non-citizens can participate.
Are there any specific areas of CI that Sentinel Reseach focuses on?
While we address a broad range of CI topics, current areas of focus include malign influence, foreign information operations, cybersecurity threats, and threats to intellectual property and academic research. We aim to engage with private sector organizations that may not be inclined to work directly with the government.
What makes Sentinel Research unique?
We integrate interdisciplinary approaches for CI challenges.
How can I participate in Sentinel Research activities?
Join as a graduate or doctoral volunteer for research projects.
What events does Sentinel Research host?
We organize discussion events and collaborative exercises.
How does Sentinel Research collaborate externally?
We foster public-private collaboration for CI solutions.
What opportunities are available for professional development through Sentinel Research?
We will offer various opportunities for professional development, including workshops, seminars, conferences, and networking events. These are designed to enhance your knowledge, skills, and professional connections within the field of counterintelligence.
I am interested in participating in Sentinel Research but am not sure where to start. How do I get involved?
We encourage anyone interested to reach out directly to our team. SRS leadership and doctoral students are always willing to guide you through the process, whether you need help with research, writing, or understanding CI concepts.
Does Sentinel Research handle sensitive or classified information?
Absolutely no classified information will be included in any Sentinel Research projects, writings, research, or events. Participants will at no point have access to classified information and those whose professional background provides this access should not include this information or knowledge in any Sentinel Research efforts.
What kind of support can I expect from Sentinel Research for my research and projects?
Our leadership is dedicated to providing comprehensive support. This includes access to resources, mentorship from experienced professionals, opportunities for collaboration, and guidance in developing your ideas into impactful research or projects.
